Our story is a bit like a great cup of coffee – a blend of passion, adventure, and a whole lot of heart.
our Journey
We first crossed paths in 2016 while working at Costa. What started as just another job quickly turned into a shared obsession with coffee. Our manager, Joy, had this incredible way of making coffee that wasn’t just about getting it done, but about crafting something special. Watching him work his magic got us hooked, and by 2018, we were deep into the coffee world, eager to learn everything we could.
In 2019, over countless coffee breaks and late-night chats, we started dreaming big. The idea of owning our own coffee business took root. We initially envisioned a cozy coffee shop but decided to start with a trailer to get things rolling. Fast forward to 2022, and we bought a horsebox, planning to convert it into our mobile coffee haven under the name Bearded Baristas. But, after realising the massive amount of work it needed, we decided to pivot.
By October 2023, with the help of an investor, we upgraded to a shiny new Airstream Trailer and rebranded to Coffee Cart Co. But as fate would have it, some legal hiccups in 2024 led us to a new beginning. That's when Brummie & Brew Co. was born in May. We wanted to keep things close to home, so we brought on James’ brother, Dan, as an investor and our creative partner, Rare Kind Creative, to help shape our new brand.
Now, we’re gearing up to launch in July 2024, excited to serve you the best coffee around and share our journey with you!

With 8 years in the coffee game, Oli is the genuine, down-to-earth guy you'll love chatting with while you wait for your coffee. He's got a baby on the way and balances his time between family, friends, and exploring new coffee spots. His favorite drink? A rich, smooth Cortado.
Also bringing 8 years of experience, James is the laid-back, pro-active half of our duo. He's passionate about making great coffee and making people smile. When he's not behind the counter, you might find him hiking, traveling, or tackling a bouldering wall. His go-to coffee? A perfectly crafted Flat White.
